Environmental Policy
Sustainability is a central focus of our business, from the
products we sell and the way we get them to market, through to the
efficiency and environmental impact of our own internal
operations.
As a member of Saint-Gobain Building Distribution (SGBD) UK &
Ireland, we are fully committed to continually improving our
position as a sustainable provider of plumbing and building
materials. We will achieve this by reducing our environmental
impacts, through a committment to the well being of all the
stakeholders involved in our business and by always considering the
economic effect of our operations.
Our commitment to minimising environmental impact also manifests
itself in a series of intiatives that will be rolled out across our
entire company.
ISO14001:2004
This policy provides a framework in which to build an effective
Environmental Management System, and addressess the critical
challenge of reducing environmental impact while maintaining
profitability.
The successful implementation of ISO14001 throughout our branch
network will not only enable us to identify and control the
environmental impact of our activities, products and services but
will also help our customers reach their own environmental
targets.
Key goals of the ISO14001 standard include:
- Savings in the consumption of energy and materials
- Framework for continuous improvement
- Minimise environmental impacts
- Carbon reduction in transport
Reducing fleet impact, improving customer service.
We have developed an innovative transport solution that will
deliver significant environmental savings while at the same time
enhancing customer service.
By streamlining the way in which customer orders are delivered,
we are able to reduce the fleet mileage and cut fuel consumption
and associated CO2 emissions.
